Your own forest
front door —
right here.
Secluded mountain lodging at 8,800 feet, where the only schedule is the sunrise over the Poudre Canyon and the only traffic is elk crossing the driveway.
A cabin that asks for nothing —
only your presence.
Willett's Kopje Creek Cabin sits on a quiet stretch of Forest Service road in the heart of the Roosevelt National Forest. No resort fees. No crowded pools. Just a sturdy log cabin, a wraparound deck, and the kind of silence you only find above the treeline.
Whether you're escaping a weekend of city noise or returning for your annual forest reset, this is the place that remembers your name — and keeps the fireplace stocked for your arrival.
The Cabin
Built for stillness,
kept for comfort.
Every detail is intentional — rough-sawn timber, a stone hearth, windows framed in western red cedar. This is lodging that doesn't shout. It invites.
The Great Room
Double-height ceilings with exposed log rafters, a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, and a wall of windows facing the valley. The main living space is where mornings begin with coffee on the deck and evenings end with the crackle of pine logs.
Bedrooms
Fully furnished with quality bedding, ample storage, and blackout curtains for sleeping in on mountain mornings.
Kitchen
Fully equipped kitchen with everything needed for campfire-adjacent meals — from cast iron to a full-size refrigerator.
Wraparound Deck & Fire Pit
Step outside onto the deck with seating for six, then gather around the stone fire pit under a sky full of stars. No light pollution. No rush. Just the mountains.
The Experience
Four seasons.
Four reasons to return.
Red Feather Lakes isn't a one-season destination. Here's what each visit looks like from the cabin porch.
Summer — Canoe, hike, breathe
Kayak Red Feather Lake, trailhead access at your doorstep, and wildflower meadows that stretch for miles.
Autumn — Gold aspen, quiet trails
The aspen groves turn molten gold. Fewer visitors. More elk. The cabin's fireplace earns its keep.
Winter — Ski, snowshoe, disappear
Close to Loveland and Copper Mountain. After a day on the slopes, there's nothing like a hot tub under the stars.
Spring — Thaw, birdsong, reset
Melting snow feeds the creek. Migratory birds return. The forest smells like wet earth and new growth.
The best part about this place isn't the cabin — it's what happens when you stop checking your phone and start noticing the light moving across the pines.
